The 5th Joint Technical Symposium will be held in Paris in January 2000, 19
to 22.

The JTS is a scientific and technical event which first took place in
Stockholm in 1983, then Berlin (1987), Ottawa (1990) and London (1995).

The JTS gathers, under the aegis of UNESCO, the international organisations
involved in the preservation and restoration of original image and sound
material.

>From its onset in 1983, the JTS has become the main international gathering
for all specialists of the audio-visual, cinema and sound heritage. More
than 250 participants from all over the world attended the last two JTS.

The subject of Paris 2000 5th Joint Technical Symposium is "Image and Sound
Archiving and Access - the challenges of the 3rd Millennium"

It will be held from 19th to 22nd January 2000 in the Auditorium of the
Institut du Monde Arabe. A wide range of issues will be addressed by more
than 40 speakers from different countries and fields of activity to share
scientific and technical researches as well as practical experiences, in
order to provide guidelines for action for curators, technicians,
researchers ...
