Media and War (E+J)

I am helping organize a long-running kenkyukai in Tokyo on the 
relationship between war and media and am wondering if any KineJapan 
members would be interested in participating.  The scope of the kenkyukai 
will be broad, covering not just mass media like television, newspapers, 
and radio, but also film, art, literature, curatorship, etc.  Since it 
will take place in Japan, many of the discussions will be on Japan, but 
people interested in other contexts are welcome too.  It will meet once a 
month on a Monday (evening) for over a year starting in April, with one 
person giving a presentation each time followed by discussion.  Most of 
the discussions will be in Japanese, so good knowledge of academic 
Japanese is recommended. Participants should be committed to attending 
regularly. Those interested should send me an e-mail PERSONALLY (not to 
the list) with their snail mail address included.
