Audrey

[Aaron Gerow]

NHK announced that the asaren (the morning serialized drama) starting 
this fall will be called _Audrey_ and will be scripted by Oishi Shizuka 
(of _Futarikko_ fame).  Of interest to KineJapan members is the fact the 
story will be set in Uzumasa, Kyoto, and feature a young woman who dreams 
of working in the film industry.  She is born in 1953, the year Audrey 
Hepburn debuted in film, and thus gets the nickname Audrey.  Her family 
runs a ryokan in Uzumasa, but the "Daikyo Eiga" studios, and the rise and 
fall of Japanese cinema, will be the central background.
