I imagine only CURE is legally available with English subtitles over the
net, and then only on the Hong Kong VCD. You should be able to order that
online from various places. LICENSE TO LIVE has just been released in
Taiwan but their Japanese VCDs rarely (ever?) have English subtitles.

I read Mark's article on SCREEN DAILY this week about Kadokawa putting out a
series of their 63 Japanese films on DVD from 1st August, launching with
SHIKOKU and RING 2. I don't think Kadokawa (or rather Asmik) have produced
any Kurosawa Films, but its further evidence of Japan's move toward DVD.

My best suggestion: get an internship at the Toronto International Film
Festival and watch their subtitled tape collection!

I don't suppose there is anyone on this list who knows of a site on the net
where I would be able to find subtitled copies of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's films
for a reasonable price. He looks like and incredible film maker, and I'd
like to try one or two of his films.
