For those of you lucky enough to be in the Bay Area
during the month of October, I hope you can make it to

It starts this Saturday and goes on for the next two
Saturdays. Shiota Akihiko is skedded to attend the
panel discussion on Thurs, Oct. 19 and the Sat, Oct.
21 screenings!

_neo-eiga_ presents six new feature films by Japan's
brightest young directors. Each of these distinct
films illustrate the range and cinematic
sophistication of Japan's independent filmmaking
community today.
Director Shiota Akihiko will appear in person on
Saturday, October 21 with two films: DON'T LOOK BACK,
his new, bittersweet view of childhood, and the United
States Premiere screening of SASAYAKI, (aka MOONLIGHT
WHISPERS), an unsentimental view of extreme love.
