Tanaka Noboru

The German magazine 'Journal Film' No. 28 (Winter 94/95) features the
article "Abe Sada - Im Reich der Sinne. Ein Vergleich der Filme von Noboru
Tanaka und Nagisa Oshima" by Wolfgang Lehmann. The magazine doesn't exist
any more but you will find a copy in one of the bigger libraries.

Thomas Weisser's (sometimes erratic) "Japanese Cinema Encyclopedia. The Sex
Films" includes other films of Tanaka but no complete filmography.

In case you can read Japanese there is a long interview with Tanaka about
his career in the online-magazine CMN No.1 (1996)

One more remark: Tanaka as well as Kumashiro and Sone Chusei were directing
roman poruno for Nikkatsu. Though very similar in content to the so-called
pinku eiga, I think it necessary to distinguish between roman poruno and
pinku eiga.
