Yamada Isuzu

It was announced a couple days ago that the actress Yamada Isuzu, who 
debuted in film in 1930 and has appeared in many of the great classic 
films like _Throne of Blood_ and _Sisters of the Gion_, was awarded the 
Cultural Award (Bunka Kunsho) by the Japanese government.  She is the 
only actress ever to receive the prestigious award.
