Seen it last weekend at the Montreal WFF,
and liked it a lot. It is fairly strong and very effective.
It is the portrait of a professional team of pickpockets
and the people around: policemen, thugs, women.
I liked the fact that it was as if the profession
was like any other profession, even maybe like a
traditional Japanese craft, especially in view of
the Japanese authorities constant downplaying
of this growing social phenomenon.
I am not sure the director intended any such second-degree
reading, but it works very well and is very enjoyeable.
