Weisser's books and VSoM

Although I've been unable to find any of the actual legal documentation
regarding video distribution, I believe if being used educationally,
something may be copied so long as the owner/writer/artist/etc. is notified
and recognized. However, selling poorly copied videos for a minimum of $25
seems fairly dubious in terms of legality. Perhaps the US doesn't mind if
that happens with imported films not licensed to any distributors in the US,
but I'm sure that those who own the films' rights in other nations can
establish a fairly strong case if they knew of something like VSoM.
