Higuchi Kanako is back!

I was looking through the production charts compiled by Mark in last week's
SCREEN INTERNATIONAL and ... gosh ... Higuchi Kanako is headlining Koizumi
Takashi's second film alongside Terao Akira. Koizumi directed WHEN THE RAIN
LIFTS and as such this film is pretty much guaranteed wide international
exposure. Higuchi retired in 1992 as far as I know after Gosha Hideo's THE
OIL HELL MURDER. Has she been any TV drama since or is this really her
comeback? Other, less exciting, news in the charts include details of
Tsukamoto Shinya's next directorial project, a biopic of author Dazai Osamu
and long-awaited [by Gavin, Miles and myself I'm sure] return of the PEKING
GENJIN scriptwriter on something or other. Gosh. Higuchi Kanako back. But
do I really want to see what she looks like in middle age?
