Oops. Somewhere in the design process an error crept into the release info
on our Serpent's Path review: the DVD I watched and reviewed is the Japanese
release by Toshiba, not a US release (which doesn't exist).

My apologies to anyone who thought they'd struck gold after reading this
erroneous bit of information. We'll correct it ASAP.

If you're still interested in the DVD (it's without subtitles, I'm afraid)
you can order it from CD Japan. It's listed under the title Ja No Michi.

Can't confirm it, but I'll get in touch with the IFFR to see if there's any
truth to this rumour, as well as the one about them selecting 5 Takashi
Miike films.

This is the list of Japanese films which I received from the Rotterdam film
festival publicist two weeks ago:

- 'Distance' by Hirokazu Kore-Eda
- 'Hush!' by Ryosuke Hashiguchi
- 'Ka?ro' by Kiyoshi Kurosawa
- 'Blue Spring' by Toshiaki Toyoda
- 'Ichi the Killer' by Takashi Miike
- 'Visitor Q' by Takashi Miike
- 'All About Lily Chou Chou' by Shunji Iwai

They said these were "a number of Japanese films that will be playing at
next year's festival", so there might well be more.

Also, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's latest project, entitled JELLYFISH ALERT, is taking
part in the IFFR's Cinemart program, which helps filmmakers find additional
funding for their films. Uplink is producing the film.
