Berlin competition

No, official announcements haven't been made yet while film business press
is being very careful about what they're predicting. But Korean press
announced a couple of weeks ago that JOINT SECURITY AREA (which recently
outgrossed SHIRI/SHURI at home and sold for a record US$2m to Japan) was in
competition and TEARS (out domestically next weekend) was in Panorama.
Rotterdam isn't officially announced until 18th January ... but if you check
out the stills available on the press section on their site for the past
couple of weeks you can make a pretty good guess what their Asian lineup
will look like.

The papers reported that Harada Masato's Inugami and Riju Go's Chloe were
both picked for the main competition at next month's Berlin Film
Festival. This will apparently be the first time since 1983 that two
Japanese films have been featured in that spotlight event.
