I like Wada Junko's work a lot (I've done subtitles for a number of her 
early films) and found this quite good, but excessive.  The first half is 
a very up-tempo, flashy version of Wada's main theme--women closed up in 
their worlds--with lots of camp references to pop culture thrown in.  But 
she just tries to do too much--take on too many different stories--so the 
work becomes more uneven from the mid-point on.

It's opening August 4 at Image Forum Theater, and I do recommend people 
to check it out for themselves.
