It has been selected and today I'm going to interview Okuda for the
catalogue of the festival. The International Critic Week only selects first
works -- last year's Japanese movie was _ Scout Man_, and Okuda's Shojo is
a good debut.
Shojo is a very interesting movie based on a short novel by Renjo Mikihiko,
shot by Ishii Hirokazu (Minazuki - Mochizuki Rokuro), written by Narushima
Izuru (Koi gokudo - Mochizuki) and Manabe Katsuhiko (Suri - Kuroki Kazuo);
art director is Hibino Katsuhiko. I think it has good chances to win the
prize in Venice.
