Miyazaki Hayao's Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited Away) is 
continuing to break records at the Japanese box office.  In its first 
seven days, it made nearly 2.9 billion yen at the box office, breaking 
the record for the same period set by Star Wars Epidode I.  2.27 million 
people also attended the film in the same period, breaking the record set 
recently by A.I.  At the ten day mark, Miyazaki's film earned 4.2 billion 
and sold 3.29 million tickets.

In other news, it was announced that director Ichikawa Kon was awarded 
the 19th Kawakita Prize by the Kawakita Memorial Film Institute for his 
contributions to the cinema.
