I haven't checked these out yet, but there seems to be some interviews of
relevance online at filmfestivals.com. Link at bottom.

* Kaze Shindo : Juicing up Love Pics
26 year-old Kaze Shindo is a director with heavy family luggage.
The granddaughter of Kaneto Shindo, the famed director of Naked
Island, she has been raised in a family where everyone, save her
mother, is involved in film activities. She tells us in this
exclusive interview how movies shaped her personality and led her to
a promising feature debut, Love/Juice, prized at Berlin and Creteil
Women's Film Festival and on to Moscow Fest this week.
* Masato Harada: Wild Dogged Director
Born in in Japan in 1949, Masato Harada found the
meaning of life in cinema and a mentor in Howard Hawks while living
in the United States. After tackling social issues in Kamikaze Taxi
(ethnic minorities), Bounce Kogals (teenage prostitution) and
Jubaku/Spellbound (yakuza corporatism), visual maestro Masato Harada
comes back with a strange film mixing forest ghost creatures and
incestuous taboos. Inugami won the Best Feature prize at Newport
earlier this month.
