HAKUCHI IN JAPAN

Hello everyone

My very first question on this list would be:

Does anyone know about the results of the exploitation of Makoto Tezuka's HAKUCHI in Japan? How did it fare? 

Info: The film is about to be released in France. To the person who asked the question about war films: this is defenitely one, thought somewhat futuristic. It's from a ANGO SAKAGUCHI tale, like Imamura's KANZO SENSEI was.
