Perhaps I didn't notice the posting, but its more likely that list member
Roberta Novielli is too modest to plug her new Italian-language book on the
history of Japanese cinema. She and several other list members also
contributed to a book published by the Pezaro film festival last week
including Roland Domenig on "pink eiga", Aaron Gerow on Japanese horror,
Mark Schilling on images of Asia in contemporary Japanese film and Roberta
on V Cinema. There's also a wonderful appendix with lengthy biographies of
27 directors. Title is "Il cinema giapponese oggi: Tradizione e
innovazione" (ISBN 880-7180-372-8). Presumably some of these essays were
originally written in English or Japanese and I was wondering if any of them
will be printed elsewhere.
