intro/ women idie filmakers

Hi I m a MA student/ Japanese intellectual history/Mcgill University. 
I' m interested in doing a project on  Japanese women's independant
cinema/video. I'm about to put in an order for a few movies through the
university.           
Any info/recommendations/comments/ film descriptions etc  would be much
appreciated.

ALso  I am looking for certain screenplays (in Japanese) of Naruse films.
Any ideas?
