I am not sure if I am mailing to the right person, but could you tell me if
you recall you hit on some note on yakuza's way of appology in the book
you've mentioned. I am studying Japanese way of appology in my cultural
study course as a teacher.

    Dear All,

    There was a request for sources on yakuza film a month back. I don't
think anyone has mentioned Isolde Standish's new book published last year
from Curzon Press, Myth and Masculinity in the Japanese Cinema.  The final
chapter especially should be of interest to anyone interested in the topic,
but her approach encompasses more than the single yakuza genre.
