essential texts on kitano in japanese?

The Kitano autobiography is also available in French. The title for that 
version is ASAKUSA KID. I'm not sure, but I believe that's the original 
Japanese title too.

The first chapter in the Tadao Press book covers much the same ground only, 
of course, a lot less in-depth.

some Kitano's lesser-known work, including GETTING ANY/MINNA YATTERUKA and 
some of his films as an actor including Yasuo Furuhata's YASHA and Koji 
Wakamatsu's EROTIC LIAISONS.
