Hochi Film Awards 2001

The awards season has begun in Japan.  The 26th Hochi Film Awards for 
2001 (given by the Sports Hochi newspaper) were announced this week.  The 
results are:

Best film: Go (dir. Yukisada Isao)
Best Actor: Kubozuka Yosuke (Go)
Best Actress: Koizumi Kyoko (Kazahana)
Best Supporting Actor: Yamazaki Tsutomo (Go, The Man from Paridise, etc.)
Best Supporting Actress: Shibasaki Ko (Go, Battle Royale, etc.)
Best Director: Miyazaki Hayao
Best New Face: Manaka Hitomi (Koko ni iru koto)
