3 Continents Film Festival

Dear Kinejapaners

Here are some early news of the Nantes Three Continents Film Festival, a
delightful and precious French festival focusing on Latin American, African,
Middle East and Asian cinema.
Apparently, the 2001 edition will screen few Japanese films. The Jalladeau
bros are considering one or two Japanese entries, not more. "Cannes heaped 9
Japanese films, and it was hard to find anything of interest right
afterwards" they said during the press conference in Paris.
For consolation, the festival will screen one very exciting WU XIA PIAN
LADIES retrospective, with films by Chang Cheh, Wang Tianlin, Wu Ma, Chu
Yuan, Patrick Tam...
Wu Xia Legend Cheng Pei Pei is expected to attend the festival (expect some
HK fans to swoon during the festival)
The festival will also screen films from China, Malaysia and Taiwan. Anyone
