A quick note to alert the list that I have responded to Mr. Itakura's email.
My apologies to the list.

Now at the University of Chicago, I am teaching classes this year on postwar
Japanese film, film criticism and Asian cinema, and masculinities in
Japanese literature and film under the auspices of the Department of East
Asian Languages and Civilizations and the Committee on Cinema and Media
Studies.  In due time, I hope to add my syllabi to the current resource at
the KineJapan website.  On a local note, the Gene Siskel Film Center in the
Loop will be hosting the much acclaimed Ichikawa Kon Retrospective this
coming January
