Unfortunately I'm pretty sure they don't have any subtitles, English or
Japanese. Same with the Terayama Shuji DVDs.

Thanks for the info on the film!

Today I discovered that new VHS tapes (rental only?) have also been released
for the 3 Suzuki films. Tsutaya in Shinjuku had a few copies of each, and
it looked like they were all checked out. The video store had very colorful
flyers for the new movie too.

I forgot to mention it but Koroshi no Rakuin, Tokyo Nagaremono and Yajuu no
Seishun are also coming out on DVD in Japan, on the 26th of next month. I
think the first two are already available on DVD in America, with English
subtitles.

Tom Mes said he loved the new film; I'm getting pretty excited about it
myself. I wonder what the "kakumei.. kakumei..." in the trailer is
referring to. Like Tom mentioned, Pistol Opera is 1.33 ratio (or
"standard"), but this isn't particularly unusual for a Suzuki film. A lot
(all?) of his Nikkatsu-era movies were scope, but Zigeunerweisen and
Kageroza are both standard, and I think Yumeji is vista size.

>??2001?N???g?????????C???[?h???????????????V???I

Is this supposed to mean Suzuki Seijun "Year" or Suzuki Seijun "Iyaaa!"?

I almost went to see the late showing of Aoyama Shinji's new film at
Eurospace tonight, but I decided I didn't want to stay up that late. I
don't think I've seen too much discussion of "Roji e..." here. Have any of
you seen it?
