I am doing some preliminary research into "Meiji cinema" or very early
Japanese films made before 1915. If anyone has any video copies of anything
from this period, including the "Japanese Lumieres Films" photographed by
Shibata in the 1890s, I would very much like to see even the poorest
quality dupes. Unfortunately the new DVD-rom on Japanese silent film has
only one title from this period. Any tips on how to locate this material
would be much appreciated.
