Gaijin/Nobu McCarthy

A few weeks ago, we had the head of the Brazilian cinemateque in town 
and I heard the happy news that Yamazaki Tizuka was making a sequel to 
her 1980 film Gaijin. This morning's New York Times reports the sad news 
that production has ground to a halt after the shocking and sudden death 
on the set of Nobu McCarthy, one of the most senior and finest Japanese 
Canadian actresses.
