Cannes

Doesn't seem to be much of a Japanese (or for that matter, Asian) presence 
at the Cannes Film Festival this year.  No Japanese films in competition, 
nor out of competition by the looks of it.  And only two Asian entries in 
the 22-strong competition field - Chihwaseon from South Korea, and Ren Xiao 
Yao (Unknown Pleasures) from China.
