Sadako's Funeral

The paper's report that Asmik Ace, the producer of the Ring series in 
Japan, has scheduled a funeral for the "monster" of that series, Yamamura 
Sadako, to be held this weekend in Harajuku. Now that the American 
version of Ring will be coming out soon, the producers have decided to 
give her a funeral so that she can finally go to heaven (jobutsusaseru). 
The author of the original novel, Suzuki Koji, and Kadokawa Shoten 
president Kadokawa Rekihiko, will preside at the funeral.

Harajuku has apparently not seen a funeral for a fictional character 
since one was held for Laura Palmer some years ago.
