>Has anyone seen the new Zeze Takahisa Sci-fi (!) movie?

I have and my review of it will appear in this Thursday's Daily Yomiuri
(on the web too). Very influenced by Georgi Daneliya's Kin-Dza-Dza
(1986), it takes that allegory of the decline of Soviet society (and the
artist in society) and turns it into an irreverent comment on race and
identity in Japan. It does not have Kin-Dza-Dza's poignancy, nor do the
cheap SFX have the same absurdist but still lyrical impact, but Zeze is
working in different directions.
