the papers reported the death of kasahara kazuo, the screenplay writer of
the JINGI NAKI TATAKAI series and many other famous yakuza films. he was 75.
in 1954 kasahara entered the advertising section of the toei-studios, but
soon switched position and became an important scriptwriter. at first he
wrote scripts for films featuring singer-actress misora hibari, later he
wrote the popular NIHON NINKYO-DEN series for makino masahiro and
specialized in yakuza-films. most successful were his scripts for fukasaku
kinji's famous JINGI NAKI TATAKAI series. from 1980 on he wrote several
historical dramas such as NIHAYAKUSAN KOCHI (masuda toshio), 226 (gosha
hideo), RONINGAI (kuroki kazuo) and FUKAZAWA YUKICHI (sawai shinichiro). his
last scripts were for the four-part anime-series SANGOKUSHI.
apropos fukasaku kinji: papers reported that yesterday he started shooting
his next and last film BATTLE ROYALE 2. Moreover, last week sony launched
its latest playstation horror game CLOCKTOWER 3 that was developed by
fukasaku.
are there many other games that were drafted by japanese filmmakers?
