Kitano to make short film for Universal?

According to the Jan. 28th edition of the Teheran Times (as reported by 
Sankei), US studio Universal has invited 20 prominent filmmakers, including 
Woody Allen, Roman Polanski and Kitano "Beat" Takeshi, to make short films 
from their own individual perspectives on the outbreak of terrorism in the 
United States.
  Directors have been asked to give their films a duration of 11 minutes 
and 9 seconds in relation to September 11th, the date the incident 
occurred,.  Universal will begin production when 15 of the directors accept 
the invitation.
  Also said to be participating are Samira Makhmalbaf and Abbas Kiarostami. 
 This project will be supported by UNESCO and the Red Cross, and exhibition 
is tentatively scheduled for the next Cannes Film Festival.
?Kitano's company "Office Kitano" said that it was unclear whether or not 
he was aware of this project.  There is no word of it yet on their website.
