Japanese censorship and ratings

Hi there everyone.

It has been a while since I posted to the list (technical
difficulties). 

I am currently doing some research into Japanese film marketing and
have realised that I can't ever remember seeing a ratings system for
Japanese films. During the course of my research, I was looking at some
advertisements in the Asahi Shimbun and realised that none of the film
poster ads carried an American/UK style rating. Personally, I find this
intriguing and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find out more
about the practices of the Japanese film industry, in terms of
exhibition, marketing and/or promotion.
