Anne-Marie Medcalf and Carolyn Brewer are now pleased
to announce that the seventh and special issue of the
journal _Intersections; Gender, History and Culture in
the Asian Context_ (School of Asian Studies and the
Asia Research Centre, Murdoch University, Western
Australia) has been posted to the net at

http://wwwsshe.murdoch.edu.au/intersections

Drawing from the fields of history, anthropology,
literature and cultural studies this issue showcases
some of the most recent research on historical and
contemporary Japan (see table of contents below).

In addition, the review section introduces a selection
of books bearing on China, Japan, Thailand, the
Philippines and the Asia Pacific region in general. We
are also extremely pleased to welcome Yingchi Chu,
also from Murdoch University, as cinema guest editor
