The film "Koko Kyoshi" was directed by Ken Yoshida. from a screenplay by
Shinji Nojima. It starred Toshiaki Karasawa as the high school teacher and
Kyoko Toyama as the student he has an affair with. Other cast members
include Keiko Oginome and Anju Suzuki.
The director, Ken Yoshida, also helmed the 1992 "Kitaro no Jugo Shojo
Hyoryuki" -- a sort of idoru "Swiss Family Robinson.
I've written reviews of both "Koko Kyoshi" and "Kitaro no Jugo Shojo
Hyoryuki." The former is in my book "Contemporary Japanese Film," the latter
got axed by the book's editor as unlikely to be of interest to anyone
outside the immediate families of the film's fifteen "shojo." Could he have
been wrong?
