Just adding a small fun news, which has a Japanese connection:
A Finnish film "The Man Without a Past", directed by Aki Kaurism?ki, won the
2nd prize at Cannes Film Festival. Japanese papers have noted that the movie
has music by the Japanese rock group Crazy Ken Band.
"Japanese rock music assisted the Cannes Grand Prix winning film."

The film also got two acting prizes, for the female lead Kati Outinen, and for
the best dog performance by the dog actor T?hti (aka "Star").
Aki's films are distributed in Japan by Eurospace. His previous film, "Juha"
aka "Shiroi Hanabira", was a silent film, and was performed in Japan in 2000
for the press and invited guests with the benshi Midori Sawato doing the
narration.
