Assistant Professor of Japanese Literature (Anticipated
Opening)

The College of William & Mary seeks candidates for an
anticipated tenure-track position in Japanese Language
and Literature beginning August 2003. Rank is Assistant
Professor, period of specialization open. Minimum
requirements: Ph.D. by time of appointment, near-native
fluency in Japanese and English, strong research
potential, commitment to undergraduate teaching, and
ability to contribute to a growing program in East
Asian Studies. Five courses per year teaching load.
Ability to teach all language levels, and courses in
Japanese literature, culture or film. Review begins
December 15, 2002 and will remain open until filled.
