Okinawan scale and Spirited Away

Not the resort itself.  The outdoor arcades before the bridge are
distinctively "Chinese" in appearance.  The food offered at the stall where
the parents literally eat their hearts out is also reminiscent of Chinatown
fare.

I don't think the Hot Spring resort is supposed to look Chinese, either....
(Among the spirits patronizing the resort there is a brief glimpse of a
Kachina, though.)
