Hope you'll forgive the plug for Midnight Eye, but seeing as this thread
came up, we're sporting an in-depth interview with Yutaka TSUCHIYA of the
Video Act group and the subject of his outstanding documentary THE NEW GOD,
Karin AMAMIYA. A lot of the issues that have come up in recent threads are
touched upon in varying degrees in detail, including the Red Army, September
11th, the limitations of documentary realism and the "reality" of war
reportage in the 21st Century.
It should prove relevent to this discussion. It will be up on site in the
next week or so,
