YALE UNIVERSITY

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures and the Film 
Studies Program announce a search to fill a joint appointment as 
assistant professor of Japanese/Asian Cinema and of Film Studies. The 
appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on Japanese and 
other Asian cinemas and core courses in the Film Studies program. 
Candidates should have completed the Ph.D by the time of appointment. 
The initial appointment, effective July 1, 2003, will be for a 
four-year term and is renewable upon review. Send letter of 
application, curriculum vitae, a sample chapter or scholarly paper, and 
three letters of recommendation to Dudley Andrew, Film Studies Program, 
Yale University, Box 208363, New Haven, CT 06520-8363. Evaluation of 
applications begins October 25, 2002. Yale University is an Affirmative
