Self-Introduction

Hello. My name is Jonathan Crow. I've been on Kine-Japan off and on for 
about seven years now. I'm currently finishing up my MFA at Cal Arts and
about to take the plunge into the murky waters of the academic job market.

I was in Tokyo earlier this month and managed to see Kurosawa Kiyoshi's
Akarui Mirai, which largely baffled me and from what I could tell most of
the audience. I don't want to rehash dead threads, but Kurosawa seems to be
really interested experimenting with the limits of genre and classical
narrative. Mirai seemed to be both a family drama of sorts and a horror
flick and something else. (Could someone explain the ending of that film?)
