Dear Kinejapan subscribers,

 

Over the next three years I shall be writing a Ph.D.-dissertation on how the
censored fiction films dating from the occupation period deal with the
occupiers, the occupation and "democratization" of Japan. My study will be
based on case studies of a limited number of individual films from that
period, and in order to pick the "right" films, which have had maximum
effect on the contemporary audience, I am in need of box office statistics
from the occupation period. Can anyone help?
