On Saturday 23 August 2003 12:14, Bill Thompson wrote various and sundry
things about Ozu and I say this in reply:
The best online source for information on Ozu is:
http://www.ozuyasujiro.com
The most active site devoted to discussions of Ozu and his contemporaries is:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ozu/
News flash: Sadly the Film Society of Lincoln Center will be showing only 22
of Ozu's film (not small -- but not as nice as retrospectives held in other
major cities).

Re: US rights to films
Criterion will be releasing several more films on DVD this year and next. So
far, they have announced plans to release "Tokyo Story", "Early Summer".
"Floating Weeds" and "Story of Floating Weeds" (the 1930s silent version).
The excellent tribute to Ozu, "I LIved But" will be Included as part of the
"Tokyo Story" set.
