Introductions

Hi! My name is Jim Harper. I've been subscribed to the list a while, but I've had to change e-mail accounts, so I thought I'd re-introduce myself and try and get some discussion going.

I live in the UK, and I'm trying to be a writer. I'm currently working on my second book, a study of Italian horror films from 1979-1994. Japanese cinema has been a passion of mine for a few years, and I'd love to find some new contacts to discuss various topics. I know the list has been quiet for a while, but hopefully there are a few kind souls out there that will indulge me. I notice that Patrick Macias and Tom Mes are both subscribed- I was going to try and contact both of you anyway but if you have the time I'd appreciate hearing some of your opinions on things.

On a related note, does anyone know where I can find English-subtitled copies of Shinya Tsukamoto's early films? I know all of his features are available on DVD, but I haven't seen many of the others around. Video Search of Miami carries a subtitled version of 'The Adventures of Electric Rod Boy', but I'm wary of the quality, since VSOM copies are sometimes awful. Can anyone help me out here?
