(A message from my colleague, Yomi Braester, to KineJapan members --

CALL FOR PAPERS

The 2003 annual meeting of the Asian Cinema Studies Society (ACSS) will
be held May 30 through June 1 at the University of Washington, in
conjunction with the Seattle International Film Festival, which runs
from May 22 until June 15.

Although the prioritized deadline for abstracts has past, it has come
to my attention that KineJapan members may not have received the
earlier call for papers. This may explain why Japanese film is
underrepresented in the proposals. Anyone interested in applying is
encouraged to email me at their earliest convenience. Any 200- to
250-word abstract received by January 30 will get full consideration.

Thanks,

Yomi Braester
