Nihon eigaron gensetsu taikei (E+J)

Yumani Shobo has just published the _Nihon eigaron gensetsu taikei_, a 
collection of reprints of some of the major monographs of film theory and 
discourse in prewar Japan. The total collection will amount to 30 
volumes, with 10 being released in the first issue. The first issue 
features thirteen works on film all published during the war. These 
include Ueno Kozo's _Eiga no ninshiki_, Sekino Yoshio's _Eiga kyoiku no 
riron_, Shimizu Hikaru's _Eiga to bunka_, Hasegawa Nyozekan's _Nihon 
eigaron_, Sawamura Tsutomu's _Gendai eigaron_, Sugiyama Heiichi's _Eiga 
hyoronshu_, Takashima Kinji's _Chosen eiga toseishi_, Ichikawa Sai's 
_Ajia eiga no sozo oyobi kensetsu_, and such rare works as the 70th 
Diet's _Eiga hoan giji gaiyo_ (a complete transcript of Diet debates on 
the Film Law). The series is edited by Makino Mamoru and each volume 
features notes by such scholars as Makino, Peter B. High, Hatano Tetsuro, 
Murayama Kyoichiro, Aaron Gerow, etc. The first issue sells for 150,000 
yen, but volumes can be purchased separately. The second issue on 1930s 
theory will be published in June 2004.
