  I think that you can just get a PAL camera and record
  whatever you like then get a PAL<>NTSC converter. 
  I've seen them on the net.  Then just keep the
  converter in the camera bag and when you want to show
  something hook it up between the VCR and the TV and
  you should be fine.  Watch out though, because some of
  the cheap converted are really bad and just compress
  PAL to NTSC and it looks really bad.
