Hello. Just joined the list and thought I would introduce myself. I am 
English and living/working in Tokyo as a technical writer.

I am keen to see as many Japanese films as I can - whilst I have the chance. 
Filmwise I am very much in the arthouse/international genre. I like anything 
by people such as Von Trier, Mike Leigh and Ken Loach. Amongst the Japanese 
directors, as well as the obvious, I like Koreeda, some Kitano, and 
Hashiguchi.

One of the main reasons I have for joining this list is to see if I can 
track planned releases of Japanese films/DVDs in England - I write for a 
small film magazine there.

anyway, look forward to learning much.
