"Steam Boy" release delayed

The release of Otomo Katsuhiro's new anime "Steam Boy", previously 
scheduled for October this year, has been put back to 2004 in order to 
accommodate further work on the film. 
In a press release yesterday, producers Bandai Visual stated that the film 
is in the final stages of production but the elaborate work required for 
the climax scene has become greater and more intricate than previously 
foreseen, and thus the release date has been pushed back to next year.
Producers Bandai Visual have a lot riding on the success of this film both 
domestically and internationally, especially the whopping 2,400,000,000 yen 
budget, and obviously can not afford to see it flop the way the 
Otomo-scripted "Metropolis" did.
