kimonos in cinema

I don't know if this is the period you're looking at,
but in "Double Suicide" (on Criterion) there is a
fairly important scene in which the wife of the main
character offers to sell her kimonos to pay for the
prostitute that he has been keeping.  It's a kind of
interesting look at kimonos in an avant-garde film.
